The Stile story began in a cottage in rural Hertfordshire, with our family of four… plus a dog and three Shetland ponies! We found it increasingly hard to advertise our family business on mainstream social media apps and digital platforms, and were becoming more aware of online negativity towards the countryside.
The social media apps that we enjoyed using often restricted reach and engagement, unfairly blocked accounts due to apparent breaches in community guidelines, and regularly received negative comments from those who did not agree with our rural lifestyle.
So… we set out on the journey to create our own social media app. A place that supports countryside lifestyles and all that they entail. A safe and supportive digital space without the uneducated restrictions. Our posting policies and community guidelines are created by the Stile community, so that you have a say in what you do and don’t want to see.
Gunmaker by trade, keen game shot and deer stalker, dog lover, and father to two little girls. Ian started his gunmaking career in his early teens and in 2019 he established his own successful
gunmaking company.
Marketeer, happy hacker and mother, Rachel spent her early years on a small holding. Coming from a line of dairy farmers, Rachel’s father is a livestock auctioneer and introduced her to both farming and game shooting at a young age.
Lovely old ladies that were bred by Rachel’s grandmother. Enjoy a good scratch and a carrot, not a fan of apples. Thankfully don’t sleep on the bed. Dinky is making a fantastic first riding pony for the girls.
In a modern world that pushes country life into the corner and dubs it as outdated and unpopular, the statistics say otherwise…
